Three PTOs released/Monday notes/Tuesday chat

Bridgeport released Wes Cunningham, Kael Mouillierat and Tyler Ruegsegger from their tryouts today. Their ECHL teams all have games this week — Ruegsegger and Mouillierat could play each other three times in Boise by Friday — and there’s the possibility of players getting healthy here.

Josh Hennessy wound up with a broken nose on a Brett Gallant hit yesterday, Mark Divver reported. Hennessy thought the hit was OK.

Nick Niedert is going back to Elmira. Whirlwind of a week for him.

And we’ll chat Tuesday at 1:30, if folks are around.

Unchanged, for now

Friday’s practice looked a lot like Thursday’s. Same players, same combinations, same everything. Only change was that Benn Olson was in the defensemen’s blue jersey instead of the fourth-line-forwards’ gray. Tyler Ruegsegger, whose beans were spilled yesterday by Alaska’s transactions, had not yet arrived. No new goalie yet, either. Brent Thompson mentioned Steve Valiquette again as a possibility.

Edit: Ruegsegger’s PTO announced officially a little before 3:30.

Portland plays tonight in Glens Falls against the Phantoms (Edit: box here) before coming here. The Sound Tigers have no ice in the morning, so no skate.

Social media for charity: The Sound Tigers announced they will give $1 to St. Vincent’s Special Needs Services for every “like” their Facebook page receives between now (well, technically, yesterday afternoon) and the end of the season. The Facebook page itself is here.

Majority share of the Leafs’ (and Marlies’) parent company: sold.

Bernie Miklasz on Albert Pujols.

And I miss Community already.
