Election Day chat Tuesday at 1:30. See below. A day off Monday for the Sound Tigers, and I spent it mostly away from (pro) hockey, so…
Barnstorming locked-out NBA players will be at Harbor Yard next Friday for an exhibition game. (The Sound Tigers are in Hartford that night.)
Apologies for losing my source on these; assembled links of the moment. A very nice listen on the loneliness of the (soccer) goalkeeper. Vin Scully on his most memorable calls. Listen to all 11 minutes of the top of the ninth of Sandy Koufax’s perfect game. (It’s funny that I heard Scully’s call of Buckner/Wilson and Gibson live… but not often since, and those aren’t the calls I think of when I think of those plays.)
A fun story about explosives.
And RIP, Smokin’ Joe Frazier.

So sad to see a person who, with Ali, was such a force in the boxing world when I was growing up die at the young age of 67. This was a fast acting cancer to claim its vistim so close after diagnosis. Joe Frazier was a brusier, and class act. RIP Smokin’ Joe Frazier.

Joey MacDonald suffered a concussion Saturday against Charlotte. The article says that the Griffins are optimistic that he will be able to recover quickly. I hope so.
