The team announced four AHL two-ways: D Matt Duffy, D Jordan Hill, D Gabriel O’Connor and F Justin Taylor and D Corey Syvret and F Mike Sellitto. The initial announcement had Hill and O’Connor; word came quickly to strike O’Connor, and came this evening to strike Hill while adding the last two.
Duffy is a Maine product (ah, jeez). Has 20 AHL games for Rochester with a respectable 3-8-11 in there. That’s, remarkably, only three points fewer than he earned in 52 games last year for Florida (ECHL). A righty.
Hill, a former teammate of the Sarnia Boys, played a couple of games last spring for Manitoba. Edit, 7:45: This too is true, but Hill is not signed, came late word.
O’Connor, another righty, played in the Q. Won’t be 20 until mid-December. Edit: That much is true, but word is O’Connor is not officially signed and might not be.
All three listed over 6 feet.
Also over 6 feet: Syvret, brother of Danny, played four games for Rochester in the spring after putting up 30 points for Guelph.
Sellitto attended the Islanders’ kiddie camp after playing at Florida Gulf Coast University.
Taylor put up back-to-back 60-point seasons for London, where he played with some decent players over the years.

Hill is a decent pickup. I’m surprised no one snatched him up. I wonder if he signed here because he knew a bunch of the guys. He is a Jon Gleed type of player, but is obviously no Jon Gleed. He was Katic’s defense partner in Sarnia. Plays sound defense, hits and will drop the gloves on occasion. Recorded 10 fights last season between Sarnia and Saginaw.

Looks liek teh Tigers staff goofed. They didn’t sign Hill, they signed Corey Syvret instead. Bummer.
