Soundin' Off

Bridgeport Sound Tigers

Monday practice

Pre-chat Tuesday edit: Casey Cizikas replaces Calvin de Haan at the all-star game.

Same cast of characters today at practice, though the lines were a bit shuffled (not unrecognizably, just a bit). We’ll see if they stick. They’re sticking with six defensemen for now, Brent Thompson said.

Benn Olson took four shots on net, got no penalty minutes and was minus-3 in his first two games for Alaska this weekend. The Aces hit the road this week.

The Whale got bigger with the signing of Rangers draft pick Randy McNaught (6-5, 221) to an AHL contract.

The KHL reinstated Jeremy Yablonski (hat tip: Dmitry Chesnokov).

Got a kick out of Kevin Schultz of Islanders Point Blank this morning, going back and retweeting stuff that was posted about the Isles’ claiming Evgeni Nabokov a year ago.

I may’ve just missed this, but a sad/interesting note from New Scientist: On top of the horrible human toll, the Italian cruise ship ran aground in a marine protected area.

And RIP, New Haven icon Jim Armstrong, with more from Quinnipiac. His obit and arrangements are here.

We’ll have a chat Tuesday at 1:30 as usual.

  1. Hey Mike, Any word if Reese and/or Wallace will be here for tonight or this weekends games?
    Thank you

  2. Don’t think so. Wallace definitely has to clear waivers to come back. Heard conflicting things about how it’d work with Reese, but I think he would, too.
