1. Mike I’m a little confused, if he signed an ELC with the Islanders, why does Bridgeport have to sign him to an ATO? He should just be assigned to BPT by the Islanders. Or is that just a figure of speech?

2. The NHL contract doesn’t begin until next season. So he has to sign an ATO to play. The ATO also allows Bridgeport to play him at any time. And at the same time, had he signed an NHL contract for this season, he couldn’t be sent to Bridgeport (like Jack Hillen a couple of years ago).

4. This could add some scoring punch this team has been sorely lacking. Good news to see another draft pick signed, especially one with some leadership qualities. Hopefully, his Hobie Bakeresque season translates well into the professional level. It hasn’t for plenty of others in the past. The Isles have done a nice job drafting kids that are genuinely good guys and leaders both on and off the ice. This kid was the captain of his team so you can add him to the list of players in the organization that get it, i.e. Okposo, Comeau, Tavares & Bailey.

5. Thanks Mike, after I posted I realized the ATO was necessary for the “play anytime rule” and was not aware that the contract starts next season. But of course it makes perfect sense.

6. Is Rakhshani eligible for playoffs, or is he restricted to remainder of regular season? Thanks.

7. He (and any other amateur-tryout player) can play in the playoffs as well as the rest of the regular season.
