Polansky Investigator Hired

A retired attorney has been retained to investigate claims that Supt. Harvey Polansky allegedly sexually harassed two female school administrators.

Loren Lettick, who until 2003 was a member of Berchem, Moses and Devlin, the law firm that represents the Board of Education, has been retained by the board at the recommendation of its attorney, Floyd Dugas.

Polansky has been suspended with pay while the allegations are investigated. His attorney, Fred Dorsey, said that the schools chief expects to be fully vindicated and is looking forward to returning to work.

According to the more detailed of the two complaints, the superintendent kissed a female principal on the lips more than once, while she tried unsuccessfully to turn her head.

Dugas said he doesn’t know how long the investigation will take. “I don’t expect it to be a protracted process, but you just don’t know,’’ the board’s lawyer said.

  1. Good move by Atty Dugas.
Berchem, Moses and Devlin is just the right firm to be turning to in order to get the investigation done and done properly. Now if everyone would just give attorney Lettic the time to do the work necessary in getting to the bottom of the complaint and getting the facts necessary in making a final decision I believe that the community will be better served for it. There is far too much at stake and everything humanly possible must be done in order to get things done and done right.
